Dealer stock or auction? Choosing the right way to source a car

Buying from existing stock

Existing dealer or trade stock can offer clearer retail preparation, faster decisions and, in some cases, a warranty from the overseas seller. It may cost more than a wholesale channel, but the difference can be worthwhile for a rare car or a shorter delivery target.

Buying through an auction

Auctions can offer wide choice and competitive trade pricing. They also move quickly: condition reports must be interpreted carefully, a bidding limit needs to be agreed and the final purchase opportunity may last only minutes.

What actually decides it

The best channel is the one that produces the strongest complete proposition—not simply the lowest purchase price.

  • Verified condition and history
  • Total landed price in Cyprus
  • Delivery schedule and route
  • Exact trim and specification
  • Strength of the supporting documentation

Our approach

MintCarz searches multiple channels through contacts in each market. We explain where a car is being sold, what evidence is available and why that option makes sense before asking you to approve a purchase.

This guide is general information, not a vehicle-specific quotation or legal, tax or registration advice. Requirements and costs can change; MintCarz confirms the applicable details for each vehicle in writing.
